The over the hill website is funselektor.com/overthehill, and the Steam store page is store.steampowered.com/app/2929250/over_the_hill/. Those two are the only first-party sources you need for game information. Everything else — Discord, Reddit, YouTube, Steam Community — is a channel the developers and publisher run alongside them.
This page is a link hub with a note on what each one is actually for, since several of them are easy to confuse with fan accounts.
The two first-party pages
The developers' own game page on Funselektor's site is the studio's project page, and it is where the official game description and press materials originate. The Steam store page is the authoritative one for anything that can change: price, configuration, region availability and the release date itself.
| Purpose | Link |
|---|---|
| Official game page | `funselektor.com/overthehill` |
| Steam store page (App ID 2929250) | `store.steampowered.com/app/2929250/over_the_hill/` |
| Press kit | `funselektor.notion.site/over-the-hill-Press-Kit-de04078ef9eb49f3a7391aa592419808` |
The press kit is worth knowing about if you are covering the game rather than playing it — it is where screenshots, the logo and fact sheets live, and it is the version of the assets most publications actually use.
Community channels
The developer and publisher channels are the places announcements land first. Funselektor's official X account and Instagram both use the @Funselektor handle, and the official YouTube channel sits at @funselektor.
| Channel | Link |
|---|---|
| Discord | `discord.gg/TcRCrnh` |
| `reddit.com/r/overthehillgame` | |
| YouTube | `youtube.com/@funselektor` |
| Steam Community | `steamcommunity.com/app/2929250/` |
| X | `@Funselektor` |
| `@funselektor` |
The Steam Community section is where the developers have answered technical questions directly. The crossplay confirmation and the local co-op status were both given as replies in Steam Community discussions rather than in a press release, which makes that hub unusually worth bookmarking.
Console store pages
Separate listings exist for the console versions, though none of them is on sale yet. The PlayStation Store listing carries concept ID 10017187, and the Microsoft Store entry uses product ID 9pmdqwhs0dc2. Nintendo eShop is listed as "Coming soon" with no live page.
These are useful to have on hand when the 2027 console window arrives, since the store pages will carry their own pricing and any platform-specific feature notes.
The official trailer
The main trailer is titled "over the hill — Coming to Steam October 14th" and sits on the official YouTube channel at youtube.com/watch?v=iO-tLX25pNk. A separate announcement trailer is published at youtube.com/watch?v=hFi39URiesI.
The Steam page also carries a gameplay capture and a "Release Date Reveal Trailer" shown in its media strip. If you want the newest material, the Steam media section is updated more often than a YouTube channel is.
How to tell a real account from a fan one
The Discord invite link is the one most likely to send you somewhere unexpected, because invite links can expire or be reissued. If discord.gg/TcRCrnh no longer resolves, the Steam store page and the developers' own site are the reliable places to find the current invite.
The Reddit community is r/overthehillgame. The developers have run an AMA there, so official answers do appear in that subreddit — but it is a fan community first, and moderation is not something the publisher controls.
The developers have been unusually open during development: a closed playtest in April 2026, a Steam Next Fest demo in June, a Gamescom showing in Cologne in late August, a level-design stream in late September and a Reddit AMA. Each of those channels is announced through the official accounts above.
Verifying a link before you rely on it
Two of these destinations are worth a second look before you bookmark them, because they are the two most likely to have moved.
Discord invite links are the fragile kind — they can expire, be rate-limited or be replaced when the server grows, and a dead link is indistinguishable from a typo. If discord.gg/TcRCrnh does not resolve, the Steam store page and the developers' own site are the reliable places to find the current invite, since both are first-party and get updated deliberately.
Console store pages sit in a third state. The PlayStation Store concept page and the Microsoft Store product page both exist, but neither is on sale while the 2027 window is still pending. A store page that renders without a purchase button is normal here, not a sign the listing was pulled.
Which sources answer which question
The neat thing about the official channel layout is that each one has a distinct job, and checking the right one saves time.
| Question | Where to look |
|---|---|
| Price, configuration, region availability | Steam store page |
| Gameplay description, screenshots, fact sheets | Press kit |
| Trailer and release date reveal | Official YouTube |
| Development updates, AMA replies | Steam Community discussions |
| Quick answers to specific questions | Discord, Reddit AMA |
| Console store listings | PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store |
The Steam Community hub deserves special mention. The two most concrete technical confirmations in the game's pre-launch record — that crossplay is supported, and that local multiplayer is not currently planned — both arrived as developer replies in Steam Community discussion threads rather than in a press release. That makes the hub more informative than the marketing materials for anyone with a specific question.
Following development without official announcements
Funselektor has been unusually visible during the lead-up to launch, and the announcements came through the official channels above each time. There was a closed playtest in April 2026, a free Steam Next Fest demo in June, a Gamescom showing in Cologne in late August where the team appeared at Indie Arena, a level-design stream in late September, and a Reddit AMA on r/pcgaming.
That cadence is a good reason to keep the YouTube channel and the Discord open rather than relying on a single page. It also means anything you read without one of these sources attached has no confirmed provenance.
The developers' own framing is a good filter for unofficial claims: "The best stories never start at the end." There is no roadmap, no feature list beyond what the store page states, and no promise of future content beyond free updates and paid DLC mentioned after launch.
What is not here
There is no official Discord server for this wiki, and no official merchandise or account system. No redeem codes have been published, because the game has not launched and no code announcement has been made. Physical editions are handled by Serenity Forge, but their preorder window is expected to open later, around the console release date announcement.
Specific platform release dates and prices for PS5, Xbox Series and Switch 2 are also not published, and the macOS situation is genuinely unclear — the Steam page lists only Windows, and community sources disagree about whether a macOS version is planned. Anything you find that is not on the two first-party pages is not officially confirmed. Treat it the same way the developers would: wait for it to appear on the store page or the official channels.
